“One Hundred Years of the Manchester Bath & Tennis Club
and the history of Magnolia’s Summer Colony”
Presented by David Fay
This presentation will document the formation and early years of the beach club that was originally known as the North Shore Swimming Pool and eventually became the Bath & Tennis. It was 1913 with the Gold Coast in its heyday when a few summer residents formed a small club that would give them the opportunity to enjoy the beach, water and beauty of Magnolia with their families. The presentation will also include the history of how Magnolia rose from a quiet fishing village to being known as “Little Newport”.
